Why sleep matters

Sleep is as essential as food, water and air, it's the natural process where mind and body recharge. Without enough of it, we simply can't function at our best.

Even occasional sleep deprivation is a real issue. After a broken or restless night we feel groggy, foggy and out of sync. Ongoing poor sleep affects mood, memory, focus, coordination, immunity and overall brain function. Good sleep is crucial to good health.

When poor sleep becomes a pattern

Sleep disorders are a group of conditions that affect the ability to sleep well on a regular basis. We all have the odd bad night from stress, illness or a life event , but when sleep issues happen regularly and start to interfere with daily life, they may indicate something more.

Insomnia, sleep apnoea, sleep walking and talking, bed-wetting, nightmares, teeth and jaw grinding, and narcolepsy are all common forms of sleep disturbance. Many of them have a strong mind-body component that responds well to hypnotherapy.

Having sleeping issues for many years, hypnosis was the last treatment I had not tried. Sheryl understood this and knew the tools and the correct type of hypnosis I needed. I could not recommend her enough, I now have the right mindset to get a full night's sleep and break free of negative thought patterns.

How hypnotherapy for insomnia helps

Hypnotherapy can help you break the cycle of poor sleep and reboot your natural ability to fall asleep, and stay asleep. Sessions work below the conscious "trying to sleep" loop, settling the nervous system and retraining the subconscious associations around bed and bedtime.

You'll also learn simple tools to calm a racing mind, reduce stress overload, and feel more positive about going to bed each night. Sheryl has worked with clients of every age, from young children to people in their 80s, who'd tried everything else before hypnosis.
