Fears & phobias
Phobia hypnotherapy & fear of flying hypnotherapy NZ
Phobias aren't logical, and that's exactly why logic alone never shifts them. Hypnosis for phobias works where the fear actually lives.

Fears & phobias
A fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain or harm. A phobia is an extreme or irrational fear of, or aversion to, something specific, and for the person experiencing it, it can be very real and very debilitating.
There's an exhaustive A–Z of phobias, from Achluophobia (fear of darkness) to Zoophobia (fear of animals). Most fall into four broad groups:
- Fears of the natural environment
- Fears related to animals
- Fears related to medical treatments or issues
- Fears related to specific situations
Sheryl has worked with clients on many fears and phobias, snakes, road noise, the dark, being alone, heights, fear of flying, driving, closed spaces, dying, needles, dentists, bugs, hospitals, vomiting and germs, to name a few. There's no age limit on who can be affected; from children to older adults, phobia hypnotherapy may help you feel more in control of your unique fear.

Habits
A habit is a learned behaviour that becomes automatic over time. We all have habits and rituals that feel completely normal, many of them healthy, like brushing our teeth. But some habits are ones you'd like to change, because they affect your health, how you feel, or the people around you.
Some of the habits Sheryl is asked to help with include:
- Bed wetting
- Thumb sucking
- Biting nails or skin around the fingers
- Hair pulling
- Tics, movements or rituals that are annoying to you or others
- Stuttering and stammering
- Snacking at night
Hypnosis for phobias and habits works with the subconscious mind, gently changing the way it reacts or feels in certain situations, so the trigger no longer fires the same automatic response.
Fears & Phobias Support programme
A personalised hypnotherapy pathway to gently disconnect the trigger from the panic, whether it's fear of flying, needles, heights, spiders or another phobia. In clinic in New Plymouth or online anywhere in NZ.
What to expect
Sessions are relaxed and conversational. You stay aware and in control the whole time , hypnosis is closer to a guided daydream than anything dramatic. Most simple phobias respond within just a few sessions.
