Meet Sheryl MurrayDipClinHyp

I'm Sheryl Murray — clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor and body therapist — based in New Plymouth, Taranaki. I have been in practice since 2010, originally under the name Hypnosisworx. Mind & Body Worx was formed in 2024 to incorporate the training I have been undergoing in Ortho-Bionomy and Reiki, enabling me to offer a more encompassing mind and body treatment for clients. I proudly hold full membership with the NZ Society of Clinical & Applied Hypnotherapy (MNZSCAH), and affiliate membership of Ortho-Bionomy NZ Inc.

Clients reach out to me for many reasons — anxiety, stress or sleep issues affecting enjoyment of life, ongoing pain issues, annoying habits or phobias they are over, weight they can't shift, or past experiences stopping them from moving forward. Whatever the problem, their common goal is to bring about change and improve their lives.

My approach

I offer a friendly, but professional approach in my clinic. Working from home means the environment is less 'clinical' and more relaxed. My role is to provide you with tools to bring about change. If you need help with issues relating to the mind I offer clinical hypnotherapy and counselling. If your issue is related to the body I offer Ortho-Bionomy and Reiki. There may be times when a mix of both mind and body treatments are called for.

Where I work

For hypnotherapy and counselling we can work together in person at my New Plymouth clinic, or online via a video platform in the comfort of your own home. I work with clients all across Aotearoa, and even overseas. Online sessions are just as effective as meeting in person.

For body therapy it is usually preferable to meet in person — however distant healing/body therapy can be offered.
