What is hypnosis?

You are in a true state of hypnosis at least twice a day – when you drift into sleep, and when you drift out of sleep. Hypnosis is a very natural state in which the body is very relaxed, but you are aware of your surroundings – and your subconscious mind is receptive to positive suggestion!

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapy. I use talking therapy (or counselling) to help you work through and understand your particular issue – and then the relevant therapeutic suggestions are delivered to your subconscious mind while you are in hypnosis!

What does being in hypnosis feel like?

You will simply have your eyes closed, and feel nice and relaxed! You may feel heavy, numb or even tingly – but you will be very aware of your surroundings. You are NOT unconscious – or asleep!

Will it make me do things I don’t want to do?

Absolutely not! When in the state of hypnosis, you cannot be made to do anything that is against your will – your values, or beliefs! You are in control at all times.

Are there any guarantees it will work?

Just like any treatment – medical or complimentary – there are no guarantees. If you want to change something in your life – and you have made a definite decision to do so – then hypnotherapy can be an effective way to bring your conscious mind and subconscious mind into alignment!

Absolutely! What we discuss in our sessions is completely confidential.

Can I just have a Counselling Session?

If you would prefer to simply chat – we can do this 🙂. Counselling (therapy or chatting) is an important part of all our sessions!

Can you do hypnosis if you are on medication?

Accepted Answer

Generally, yes – but we would discuss the medications you are on in our first session. Hypnotherapy is complementary to traditional medical care – and both can work nicely alongside each other.

How much does a session cost?

Session fees depend upon the issue you are wanting help with. I have many set programmes – once we have chatted over the phone I can email all costs relevant to your enquiry.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions may vary – but in most cases we will meet over a minimum of 3-5 sessions. (please note: Be Smoke Free/ Be Vape Free Programmes are only 2 sessions)

What are the payment terms?

You can pay via eftpos or cash at the clinic, on the day of your appointment. If your session is online, payment is made the day prior to our session.

I live out of town – can I do it online?

Absolutely! I work with many clients online – NZ wide and also overseas! All you need is your smart phone, device or laptop – and we can connect via Facetime, Zoom or Messenger.

Does online hypnotherapy and counselling work?

Working together online, via a recognized video connection, works just the same as being in the clinic setting. For hypnosis to be effective, you simply need to be able to hear my voice.

What qualifications do you have?

I proudly hold a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy – which includes training in Hypnosis, Counselling, Psychology, Behaviour, Anatomy & Physiology. I am a Full member of the New Zealand Society of Clinical & Applied Hypnotherapy.
